Annual Midlands Craft Beer Festival set for Moate

The 8th annual Midlands Craft Beer Festival will be held in Don's Bar, Moate this Saturday, August 20.

Those who attend can expect good weather, good beer and good food, according to owner of Don's Bar, Don Allen.

“We're hoping the sun stays out for it. Hopefully, we get a good dry day. It's been a great success for us so far," he said.

The local bar owner is looking forward to staging the craft beer festival for many more years.

The event will be hosted by Moate blogger and Galway Bay Brewery Ambassador Simon Broderick, of the 'Simon Says' beer blog.

Seven different renowned Irish craft breweries are set to make an appearance at the festival this weekend, including local drinks producers such as Dead Centre Brewing and Lough Ree Distillery.

Beer aficionados can expect a variety of different craft beers from companies across the country that they wouldn’t normally find on tap.

The festival will kick off at 3pm with live music from 4pm to 9pm and BBQ food on offer.

A full bar will also stock all the usual beverages and an assortment of cocktails will be available.

Admission is free. For more information visit the Midlands Craft Beer Festival Facebook page.
